Beyond Make Music NOLA: Summer Camp and More

Four students will attend Archipelago Project’s Musical Leadership Camp in Michigan during July of 2019.

During the summer of 2019, MMN held three workshops at the Bell Artspace Campus, including a Creative Composition Workshop, a Jazz and Improvisation Workshop, and an Orchestra Intensive Week.

Make Music NOLA students have been accepted to NOCCA. Four students were accepted into the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra.

After several years in the program, Make Music NOLA students have started to perform on their own at churches, for weddings, and school talent shows.

Make Music NOLA has partnered with national and international organizations for workshops.  Partners include, Kings School (Stamford), 1Beat (State Department sponsored international tour), Fundamusical (Venezuela), Sphinx and SphinxConnect (Detroit).  In the fall of 2019, MMN was awarded a three-year PRESTO grant through El Sistema USA and the Angell Foundation. MMN was also accepted into the Bloomberg AIM Program for two years beginning in September of 2019.

Outstanding Teachers.        Outstanding Students.
