FALL 2021

  • Make Music NOLA’s after school classes are back in-person, outdoors (weather permitting), socially distanced, and masks are required!

  • There is a virtual option available for all after school and Saturday classes.

  • MMN is back to offering orchestra, chamber ensemble, music theory, and beginning strings class on Saturdays!

FALL 2020 AND SPRING 2021

  • MMN is working with three of our partner schools - Paul Habans Charter School, Lafayette Lower Academy, and Elan Academy - to continue to provide high quality virtual and in-person instruction for general music and string classes.

  • MMN after school programs switched to virtual instruction in September of 2020 and will continue virtually through May 2021. MMN is currently offering seven virtual group string classes that meet three days a week.

  • MMN held several guest artist master classes virtually, including classes with T-Ray the Violinist, Gwen Laster, Mitchell Player, and Barry Stephenson. This spring, MMN will hold three virtual workshops with DComposed, Givonna Joseph, and Jee Yeoun Ko.

SPRING 2020

  • MMN instructors released eight video lessons per week to over 180 students for eight weeks. Each lesson came with a short assignment that could be returned via text or email.

  • Our instructors taught 200+ private lessons to over 46 students throughout the spring semester.

  • Our students and teachers put on an hour long virtual recital.

  • MMN held three week-long virtual workshops during the month of June, focusing on Creative Composition, Chamber Music, and Orchestra. Our students wrote the lyrics, melodies, and rhythms to the entire seven minute Creative Composition piece, which they named “Summertime Song.”

  • Our team built out a curriculum manual on New Orleans that we are excited to start using.
